CAST IT and CASTING NETWORKS (LA CASTING) Have Joined Forces: What Does this Mean for YOU?

3 CompaniesCLARIFICATION:  In our communication on 21 November we erroneously conveyed the message that Talent Representatives were required to have an active and approved Cast It Talent profile in order to be able to submit clients to FOX and other Projects/Roles.

This is not required at this time.
Please do focus your attention on your Casting Networks account and your roster there.
We apologize for any confusion.
As many of you know, Cast It Talent & Casting Networks recently partnered with 20th Century Fox TV and Theatrical to be their exclusive software platform for the casting process.  We have been working as quickly as we can to make the transition as efficient as possible, for everyone involved. The onboarding process has been a big undertaking, and we appreciate your patience through this time.

Here is some further information:

You can choose based on whether you expect to be submitting your clients’ self-tapes if you want to make sure your client profiles on Cast It Talent are up to date.  There may be self-tape requests that will be submitted through Cast It Talent but you can address those as they arise!

1. Is there a difference between my Actor signing up with or without my company URL?

There is no difference between an actor signing up for a Cast It profile and adding you as their Talent Rep or an Actor using your URL to create their profile. Both result in the same Free Basic Cast It profile and both include the Actor in your Roster.

– Actors with existing Cast It profiles should add you on their Talent Rep Tab
– Actors with no existing profile should use your URL to create their profile

Both methods result in the Actor being added to your Roster for you to be able to submit them through Cast It or manage their online media. The URL does not give any benefits beyond a normal Free Basic Cast It profile.

2. What is AgentApp Pro?

AgentApp Pro allows you to send a package including video to any email address, name in our system (700+ Casting Inboxes), or URL. A Pro account does not give you access to any more roles beyond a basic account. AgentApp Pro is more of a pitching and sharing tool.

3. How can I update my clients’ media?

Manage your client’s Media by going to your ROSTER tab and clicking on the desired actor’s stage name. To upload a new media file, click the SELECT FILES button, locate the file on your computer, and click OPEN. The file will then upload. Our system knows the difference between a photo, video, Mp3 or pdf. To delete an existing photo, resume, or video file, locate the file you wish to remove, click on the icon in the top left of the thumbnail image, and click DELETE.

4. What is the process to submit through Cast It?

When you have a submission URL from Casting and your client’s media, please:

  1. Log in to your account at www.castittalent.com
  2. Type in the desired Actor’s stage name in the SELECT/ADD field
NOTE: If this actor is not on your Roster simply click ADD ACTOR in the drop down. This will add the Actor to your roster OR it will create an account for this Actor and add that to your Roster
  3. Copy and paste the submission URL in the SEND ACTOR PACKAGE TO field – (If you began by clicking the URL provided by casting it should be pre-populated)
  4. Select the role in the dropdown that appears underneath the second field (if applicable)
  5. Click UPLOAD MEDIA and upload all necessary media
  6. Click SUBMIT!

You will be able to find your completed submission by clicking on the SENT button in the MESSAGES tab.

ACTORS:

1. Is there a difference between signing up with the URL my agent gave me or my existing Cast It profile?

DO NOT create a new profile using your Talent Rep’s URL if you already have a Cast It profile.

If you have an existing Cast It profile, please add your Talent Rep on your Talent Rep Tab.  If you do not have an existing Cast It Talent profile, then use the URL given to you by your Talent Rep.

There is no difference between a Cast It profile that you create separately and a profile create by using your Talent Rep’s URL.  Either can be a Free Basic profile or a paid Pro profile.  The URL does not give any benefits beyond a normal Free Basic Cast It profile.

You can add your Talent Representative (Agent/Commercial Agent/Manager/Coach, etc.) to your account by logging in and going to your TALENT REP tab. Enter your representative’s email address.  The remainder of the fields (first and last name, agency or management company, etc) will auto-populate based on your Talent Rep’s information. Then click the ‘Send’ button at the bottom of the page.

This will send an email to your Talent Representative notifying them that you have added them as your Talent Rep. When they click the CONFIRM CLIENT link in this email, they will be able to upload media and submit to projects on your behalf.

2. Your system says I already have a profile or my Stage Name is already taken. What do I do?

You may have an existing profile because your Talent Rep created it for you or you may have created one that you forgot about.  If you are attempting to register for a profile and you receive a message that your stage name is taken or you have an existing profile, please do not create an additional account.

Send an email to talent@castitsystems.com with the following information:

  1. A screen shot of the pop up that appears
  2. Confirmation if this is a photo of you – if it is a silhouette and not your photo, don’t worry.  Send that screen shot anyway.  If it is someone else, let us know.
  3. An email address you would like to have associated with your account

We will then resolve the issue and connect you with your existing Cast It profile.

3. What do I get as a Free Basic member of Cast It?

If your talent rep provides you with a sign up URL, you are given a Free, Basic account. You can also create the same Free Basic account by creating an account and verifying your identity through Facebook here: https://www.castittalent.com/Paymentgateway.aspx.

With a Free Basic account you can upload up to 10 headshots (each under 1MB) and 10 resumes directly to your profile.

NOTE: Uploading video directly to your profile is reserved for Pro Members only.

4. Why do I need a Cast It Talent Profile right now?

Cast It is where 90% of Studio and Major Independent productions view Actor audition video and demo reels – whether they are self tapes or recorded in the casting office.  Your Cast It Talent Profile lets you and your Talent Rep submit your video to Casting.

5. Why would I want a Cast It Pro profile?

A Pro Membership allows you to upload videos directly to your profile, submit your media packages, including videos, to any role on your Roles Tab, and send packages, including video to 700+ Casting Inboxes where Casting Directors log in every day.

Pro members also get 1 free Feedback per month (submit a self-tape and get feedback from a Casting Pro working on a Studio project.  You get both a number score out of 5 and a short critique of your work.

We hope this helps! Cast It and Casting Networks offer unique services that serve different clients and their varied needs.
