I am new to acting. I have done a few featured roles in independent films and various background and featured extra parts in movies. I would like to know what is the best way to find a good and reputable agent. Also what are things I should look out for so I am not scammed again. I also wanted to know what are the best poses for headshots. Thank you so much for your knowledge and assistance. Best Regards, Niki
In order to find an agent, you need to do principal roles in films and web series for footage and credits or create your own reel that looks like it’s a television show. Regarding poses for headshots, look on IMDB and see who’s your type on what show and check out their headshots. Study what they are wearing and make sure you build a bio for each and every shot so that you are acting your photo session, not just taking one. You need to know where you fit in the industry in order to be in the industry.

How do I avoid scams, and how will I be able to tell what is a scam and what is a legitimate resource?
The best way to avoid a scam is to trust in your initial instinct. If it’s too good to be true, then it is. Always remember that if you want to have a career you need to work hard at building one. This is not a job, it’s a career – a job is for a moment, but a career spans a lifetime!

I am currently pursuing acting and directing, and I would love to start making my own content. How can I connect with people with similar interests and talents that would like to create with me? Writers, other actors, producers, etc?
Find out where your local film school is and contact their film department. I’m currently directing a film and the producer called local film schools to find interns to help out with the production. They get a credit on their resume and experience and you get to create your own content. If you have money, then go to http://inktip.com and find a writer there. Great company with writers that you can ask to see their samples or read some of their material.
